Our Managing Director is Alan Collett. Alan is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (number 7623070), is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (number 32252), is a MARA Registered Migration Agent (number 0102534), and is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia (number 1230).
In addition to his involvement with Go Matilda he has associations with other businesses and individuals which can assist (amongst other things) with personal and business taxation, financial planning (including advice on investment matters, and the transfer of pension funds from the UK into an Australian superannuation fund), and the setting up or acquisition of a business in Australia.
He is therefore extremely well placed to advise on many aspects of a move to Australia, particularly the interaction of visa strategy with taxation on departure from the UK and arrival in Australia, and is often to be found giving advice on discussion forums that are dedicated to those who want to move to Australia (including the Forum on this website).
You can contact Alan by email via alan.collett@gomatilda.com or via our office in Melbourne.
Jane Cooper works with Alan Collett in Go Matilda Accounting and Tax. Jane is tax qualified in the UK and Australia, being a member of the UK's Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Taxation Institute of Australia. She is based in Perth, Western Australia, and also assists clients with the transfer of their pension benefits to Australia.
Marina Towner works with permanent visa applications, principally under the skilled, business skills, spouse, and parent visa categories. Before joining Go Matilda Marina had 18 years of experience working at the Australian High Commission in London, including 16 years in the Permanent Migration Branch, assessing and processing every type of permanent offshore visa application.
For 3 years Marina managed the Skilled Migration Section, which then processed all skilled visa applications for the UK. In addition to assessing and processing the various types of application, she supervised and trained the section's staff, and gave advice and direction to staff and visa applicants on migration law, policy and procedures.
Marina can be contacted at our Southampton office, or by email: marina.towner@gomatilda.com
Sarah White is a MARA Registered Migration Agent (number 0747071). She lives and works in the Australian Capital Territory and assists clients with all types of visas, including employer sponsored visa applications, and skilled and family visa applications for individuals who are already in Australia on temporary residency visas.
Sarah is a (non-practising) solicitor, having spent the last few years before becoming a migration agent practising corporate tax law in London and Brisbane.
Sarah is contactable via our Melbourne office or by email: sarah.white@gomatilda.com.
Wendy Torjussen is our client management administrator who is based in Southampton with Sarah-Jane Pick.
Wendy and Sarah-Jane provide a vital link in the visa application process, in that they handle incoming post from clients, scan documentation and submit the same to the Department of Immigration, maintain client records on our internal client management system, and generally liaise with clients when a consultant is not available to confirm all is well with their visa application.
Our clients often receive emails directly from Wendy or Sarah-Jane to confirm the safe delivery of paperwork, or have a telephone conversation with them to confirm all is well with their visa application.
Sarah Hall is one of our client administrators based in Australia. Sarah provides support with the preparation of forms for review, the scanning of documentation in Australia for lodgment with the relevant authorities, and liaising with clients to confirm applications have been submitted to the Department of Immigration in Australia.
All of our consultants can advise you regarding your visa options and which category will best suit your circumstances. They can advise regarding expected visa processing times, will confirm our fees in writing for assisting with a visa application (which are fixed from the outset), will help prepare your visa application so that it is presented in the best possible way, and will give you advice and guidance throughout the visa application process so that your application is more likely to have a successful outcome.
We look forward to hearing from you.
