We understand that from the 1st of July, 2004 Centrelink (the Government body that administers the payment of benefits) will oversee Assurances of Support and will liaise with the Department of Immigration where an AoS is required.
From the beginning of July the Department of Immigration will have no involvement with the AoS process beyond awaiting confirmation from Centrelink that the required AoS has been lodged and accepted.
